The Duct Tape Challenge is BACK ON! Let’s kick off our holiday break right with a BANG . . . like taping our principal to a wall! The taping begins on Friday, Dec. 21 at 8:30 a.m. We need a few parent volunteers to help supervise the taping and make sure kids are following the rules (e.g., no tape on Mr. B’s head). Come hear the beautiful harmonies of the Sequoia Choir! The daytime performance is Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. The evening concert is on Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Both performances are free and in the auditorium. »

Thank you to all of the volunteers who pitched in to help make ArtSPARK happen. Our student art show is truly a reflection of our fantastic community. We felt your kid power. If you missed the Saturday event, classrooms will have an opportunity to view the show on Monday and Tuesday. Remember to pick-up your art on Tuesday, Dec. 4 after school. We also need hands dismantling the event on Tuesday after school. Please consider spending a few minutes helping. »

“Hog Wild”: Volunteers Needed for Silent Auction & Family Dance

It’s that time of year again, and we are gearing up for the Sequoia Silent Auction & Family Dance Feb. 9. This year’s theme is “Hog Wild,” and we need volunteers! With your help, we had an amazing event last year and hope to do even better this year. There are a number of ways to help. We need the following volunteers: Creative writers ​​to help promote the event (website copy, updates on Next-door, newsletter/social media posts). All can be done in the comfort of your home. Carpenter​​ (amateur or professional skills) to make outdoor games, think corn hole or giant Jenga. Photographer​​ to do mini-photo sessions, about 15 minutes per family for a fixed cost.
